Playing the addiction game

What make us so connected to a game? Why do we continuously and persistently spend hours in front of a screen in a virtual world created by an artist or programmer? Let me also add that I am not against video gaming what so ever, I simply would like to explore the fact that they can become addictive and people really need to understand the consequences of this.

It’s interesting to understand that most MMORPGs, or massively multiplayer online role playing games are among the top genres to promote the addictive tendencies among all video games and the sole reasoning behind this, like most addictions, is peer pressure. The pressure that we put on others to benefit ourselves!
