This research report entitled, “Children And Sports Media” by the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles shows the statistical data in correlation to children and sports media. In the chart entitled, “Medium for Sports At Least Once a Week by Children ages 8 to 17”, video games were shown to be the second medium for children to interact with sports. 14% of children who play sports video games said that they do so everyday. In my research, I hope to prove that video games help to encourage children to physically play sports and that they main gain the same social and psychological skills from video games that they do when they actually play a sport. I hope that this article helps prove my theory true. It would be great to see that children who play video games everyday would also get outside and play physical sports.
